Hall, Nethercott too much for Bees

Brady Hall shredded the Box Elder defense for 291 yards passing as the Mountain Crest Mustangs comfortably defeated the Bees 42-18 Friday night at Lynn R. Miller Field in Hyrum.

Mountain Crest (3-0) hosts Stansbury next Friday in Hyrum. The Bees (1-2) host the Pocatello Indians in their home opener. There will be no radio broadcast of either game.

The Mustangs got on the board first in the opening quarter, on a Brady Hall quarterback sneak. He added another TD run later in the game and tossed two TD passes to Nic Nethercott, who ended up with 150 yards receiving.

Jeremy Kalekeini matched Hall with 266 yards passing, including two circus scores to wide out Connor Stevenson. The speedy junior had TD catches of 74 and 60 yards.

But it was the Mustangs’ night as they built a 35-3 lead midway through the third quarter, before the Bees made a comeback. A fourth quarter fumble recovery, followed by a four yard score, sealed the win for the ‘Stangs.
