Community celebrations, theater productions and even a Pitter Patter Kitten Shower highlight this weekend’s activities throughout Cache Valley.
Stardust Big Band Show
An evening of dinner, music and dancing will transport you back to the 1930s and 40s at the Stardust Big Band Show. It will feature a live, big band show, singers, dancers and a lot of nostalgia at the Cache County Events Center. Tickets are on sale now for the shows that take place June 27, 28, 29 and July 1.
Nibley Heritage Days
Nibley Heritage Days continue this week with the Children’s Theatre at Anhder Park Thursday and Friday at 7, Parade Saturday morning at 10, Family Festivities at Elkhorn Park starting at 11, and Fireworks at 10 p.m.
Pony Express Days
Clarkston is hosting their Pony Express Days Friday and Saturday. The Pony Express Horse Relay Race is Saturday at 9, Parade at Noon, and a wide variety of other activities throughout the day, including a classic car show, animal chase, fireman soak, and more.
Summer Solstice Celebration
We’ve got the Summer Solstice this weekend! It’s also the International Day of Yoga. To celebrate, the Logan Downtown Alliance presents the fourth annual Summer Solstice Celebration from 6-9 p.m. on Friday. They’ll celebrate with food vendors, music and yoga classes for all ages.
Star Spangled Rodeo
Start celebrating Independence Day early with the Star Spangled Rodeo in Hyrum. The rodeo starts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
The Lyric Repertory Company opens Mamma Mia! this weekend. Performances are Friday and Saturday at the Morgan Theatre, with Raisin in the Sun playing at the Caine Lyric Theatre Thursday night.
The Little Mermaid
Four Seasons Theatre Company’s presentation of The Little Mermaid continues this weekend, as well. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Sky View High School.
Tabernacle Concert Series
The free concerts continue this week at the Logan Tabernacle. Every weekday at Noon a different artist or group performs in the historic building.
Bike MS: Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride
Bike MS: Harmons Best Dam Bike Ride rolls through the northern part of Cache Valley on Saturday and the southern part of Cache Valley on Sunday. It’s a bike ride, not a bike race, with multiple distances and all rides start and finish at the Cache County Fairgrounds. The ride raises tens of thousands of dollars for Multiple Sclerosis research every year.
Moving Mountains for Adoption
If riding a bike isn’t your thing, check out the Moving Mountains for Adoption 5K / 1 mile run. It starts at 8 a.m. at the Paradise Town Square.
Motorcycle Fire Ride
The 3rd annual Motorcycle Fire Ride is also taking place in Paradise Saturday morning. It’s a fundraiser for the Paradise volunteer fire department.
Run, Walk and Roll
The 4th annual Run, Walk and Roll race takes place Saturday morning at Elk Ridge Park. There’s a 1 mile walk option, as well as 5K and 10K race options. All proceeds benefit local families with a child under three years of age who has a delay or disability.
Marching Band Garage Sale
The Sky View Marching Band is hosting a huge parking lot garage sale Saturday from 10 to 2. There will also be a climbing wall, bungee trampoline, face painting and more at Sky View High School as the band raises money for a new sound system.
Pitter Patter Kitten Shower
Help the Cache Humane Society welcome their new batch of kittens this Saturday. Join them for food, drinks and games starting at 12 noon. You can bring a gift for the kittens or a monetary donation that will go directly toward their care.
Michael Ballam stars in Bravo, Caruso! this Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Utah Theatre. The story takes you backstage at the 1920 Metropolitan Opera to meet the greatest tenor in history. Saturday’s is the first of eight performances throughout the Utah Festival Opera and Music Theatre season.
Concert on the Quad
Finish your weekend with a free concert on the USU Quad by the USU Summer Alumni Band. The concert is Sunday at 7 p.m. and it’s free.
