Roper likes the idea of a diverse water district board

He is running as an at-large candidate on Cache County’s water conservancy district board and Brett Roper says he hopes to be elected for a seat because he feels he has some good ideas that would make the board work better.

Roper says what is most important is to help people understand how water is used and where it comes from.

“This board of 11 people will have very different interests,” he says. “I think that means we will get a lot of different perspectives. I think that leads to better decisions.

“When everybody has the same view, that’s not very helpful. by having 11 members on this water board will make sure we don’t overlook some solution that we might not think about.”

Roper has a Ph.D. in Fisheries Management and is running against Kirt Lindley for the position on the water district board.
