Preliminary hearing set for Logan man charged with multiple counts of sex abuse

LOGAN — A judge has scheduled a preliminary hearing for Aaron R. Robison, the 31-year-old Logan man accused of multiple sex abuse charges.

Robison appeared in 1st District Court Monday morning, on his two previous cases and two new ones. Altogether, he faces one count of sodomy on a child, a first degree felony, two counts of sex abuse of a child and three counts of forcible sexual abuse, all second-degree felonies.

Defense attorney Wayne Caldwell told the court he had been unable to reach any resolution in the cases with prosecutors. He asked for the preliminary hearing, where a judge will determine if there is sufficient evidence to bind Robison over for trial.

Prosecutors allege the assaults in the two original cases took place in the summer of 2010 and 2011. The two new cases reportedly took place between 2000 and 2002.

During Monday’s court appearance, Judge Thomas Willmore scheduled the preliminary hearing for June 8.

Robison is currently out of jail on pre-trial supervision, after posting $5,000 bail. He could face up to life in prison if found guilty.
