Wednesday night, February 1st, is an election night for Republicans living in Cache County’s Northeast District. Cache County Republican Party Chairman Boyd Pugmire says that night it will be decided who should replace Val Potter on the Cache County Council now that he is a state representative for District 3.
Pugmire says there are three strong candidates wanting to replace Potter: Gina Worthen, Elaine Nelson and Lloyd Berentzen.
“We sent out notices this past weekend to all the delegates and to all of the precinct leadership that will be involved with the voting,” Pugmire explains. “I will introduce each of the three candidates. They will each be given five minutes to speak. After they have spoken then we will vote.”
After the winner is chosen Pugmire will present the decision to Cache County Council Chairman Greg Merrill and the council will ratify that individual at the council meeting on February 28th.
