Berentsen, Worthen and Nielsen apply to replace Potter on Cache County Council

Val Potter recently resigned his seat on the Cache County Council to become a State Representative in District 3. There are three candidates vying for Potter’s seat in the Cache County Council’s Northeast District.

The candidates are Lloyd Berentsen, Mayor of North Logan, Gina Worthen, former vice chair of the Cache Republican Party, and Elaine Nielsen, former North Logan City Council member.

The winning candidate will be chosen Wednesday, February 1st at a special meeting to be held in the Cache County Council Chambers at 6:30 p.m. Those able to vote include the Republican precinct chairman, precinct vice chairman, precinct secretary and precinct treasurer, county delegates and Republican Party officers, along with voters from Republican districts Hyde Park 1 and 2, North Logan 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 and Smithfield Districts 4 and 5.

The winning candidate’s name will then be forwarded to Cache County Republican Party Chairman Boyd Pugmire who will present it to the Cache County Council for ratification.
