Members of the Logan Municipal Council took time at Tuesday’s meeting to honor a member of the city’s family, Recorder Teresa Harris. Mayor Craig Petersen said Harris has earned the designation of Certified Municipal Clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Inc.
He said the IMC grants this designation only to those municipal clerks who complete demanding education requirements and who make significant contributions to local goveernment, their community and state.
Harris acknowledged she is honored by the recognition.
“It took me about three years to get it,” Harris said after the meeting. “You have to attend trainings and classes and it’s through education and experience as a city recorder. I’m just very happy to receive it.”
Council members thanked Harris for her service and said she is making great contributions to the city.
