Continued talk about deportations by Donald Trump and other Republican presidential hopefuls is not going over well with the local Latino population. Danny Beus, outreach director for the Cache County Democratic Party says there are also other issues that are giving his group reasons to be concerned.
”Health care is a big issue with the Latino community,” Beus says. “All of the Republican candidates are trying to repeal, or saying they will try to repeal Obamacare.
”That, and education is very important. Those are the main things that Latino voters are looking at, as well as immigration. Immigration is a big deal.”
Beus says Latinos have not had a high voter turnout in the past but because of the importance of the issues he feels that will change in 2016.
