UHP investigates three-vehicle accident involving LCPD Detective

LOGAN — Utah Highway Patrol troopers were called to investigate a three-vehicle accident Monday morning involving a detective from the Logan City Police Department.

UHP trooper Joshua Preece said a woman was driving a white Buick La Sabre southbound on US 89/91, when she ran a red light at the intersection of 1700 South, striking an unmarked police SUV.

The force of the impact rolled the SUV onto its side and pushed it onto the hood of a third vehicle, a Buick Century that was stopped in the intersection waiting to make a left turn.

Preece said none of the three-vehicle’s occupants suffered any major injuries and the driver of the Buick La Sabre was ticketed for failing to stop at a red light.

The accident occurred at 8:30 a.m. and blocked east and westbound traffic along 1700 South and 600 West for an hour.
