Overall, State Representative Jack Draxler, R-District 3, believes some good things got done during the 2015 session of the Utah legislature.

The Republican from North Logan says he was pleased with the way the issue of transportation money was worked out by increasing the gas tax and allowing for an optional sales tax.

Although no decision was made on Medicaid expansion, Draxler says he feels that will be worked out during a special session in July. He did not go along with all of Governor Herbert’s Healthy Utah plan but he is a strong supporter of the governor.

“I think he’s been an outstanding governor,” exclaims Draxler. “I don’t agree with anybody on everything, and I haven’t agreed with the governor on everything, but I think he’s been outstanding. I would support him again.”

As for himself, Draxler says it is too early to decide whether or not to seek another term.
