A 1969 Dodge Super Bee is the Cache Valley Cruise-In’s Grand Prize giveaway car for 2013. Cruise-in Coordinator Mary Zilles said it is equipped with a standard 383 Magnum engine and heavy-duty four speed transmission.
The stye is vintage 60’s. Zilles said the blue paint and the white vinyl top are well complemented by the white bumblebee stripe across the trunk and rear quarters.
Zilles said that anywhere from 850 to 1200 specialty cars, street rods, and restored vehicles will be at the Cache County Fairgrounds for the Cruise-in next week and the giveaway car is already making the rounds.
“It’s being displayed at most of our sponsors’ place of business,” Zilles said on KVNU’s Crosstalk program Monday, June 17. “It’s bright blue, hard to miss. A $5 ticket gets you a chance to win that.”
The car will be given away Saturday, July 6 at 6 p.m. in the rodeo arena but you must be present to win. On Friday, Pat Benatar will perform. The Cruise-In cars will parade on Logan’s Main Street Saturday night after the 2013 Cruise-In car is given away.
