LOGAN— The Cache County Council is holding its annual budget hearing Tuesday, and County Executive Lynn Lemon said the public is invited to turn out and give input before the 2-13 budget is adopted.
At the last council meeting, Lemon said he is concerned about the road department budget. Part of its funding comes from “Secure Rural Schools Funding” and it looks like that money will probably not continue to come.
“Between the reduction in that amount of revenue and the increased costs, we do have a serious problem in the road department,” Lemon said. “I think next year we’re going to have to do some serious reductions in that budget. When I talk about reductions, I’m talking about people.”
Lemon told council members unless they are willing to raise taxes there will probably have to be serious cuts in the road department.
