Classic cars and specialty vehicles rolling into Logan for Cache Valley Cruise-In

It’s the largest three-day automotive event in Utah and the 2011 Cache Valley Cruise-In opens Thursday, June 30 and continues through Saturday, July 2. Director Chris Garr says an increase in the number of cars of all kinds is expected and many classic cars and specialty vehicles are already coming in.On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Thursday, Garn said the car show at the fairgrounds this year will feature the Batmobile from the Batman movies and the race car Blade that can go 214 miles-an-hour and recently took first at the Rocky Mountain Raceway.”And we have a couple of monster trucks,” Garr said. “They’re big, huge competition trucks for the show as well. So there is a lot of really nice specialty vehicles and then vehicles from all over the United States that are only going to be seen at this show in Utah.”Garr says the car show and other events will be held at the Cache County Fairgrounds Friday and Saturday where the drawing for the giveaway car is after the awards ceremony at 6 p.m. She says this year the giveaway is a 1936 Chevy Coupe. The final event is the popular Cruise-In parade down Logan’s Main Street at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.Garr says families involved with the Cache Valley Cruising Association work all year to get ready for the Cruise-In. A highlight this year is the Beach Boys concert Thursday night at the fairgrounds.
