Loaded reservoir prompts Montpelier to declare State of Emergency

Members of the Bear Lake County Commission have declared a State of Emergency for the city of Montpelier, Idaho. Montpelier Mayor Reed Peterson tells KIFI that at the rate water has been rushing down it is anticipated that it could be over the top of the Montpelier Reservoir by Memorial Day.Mayor Peterson says the city has been doing everything possible to prevent the flooding including installing massive pumps. His main concern right now is owners of homes up the canyon where a record amount of snowfall has started to melt as the weather has gotten warmer.
