Brigham City group one of six receiving grants

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) – Six Utah nonprofit agencies that provide services to people in need are among the major recipients of more than $309,000 in grants from the Colorado-based Daniels Fund.The Utah agencies include the Ability Foundation of Murray, Boys & Girls Clubs of Brigham City, House of Hope in Salt Lake City, Housing Opportunities of Salt Lake City, Transitions in Blanding and Youth Impact of Ogden. Founded by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, the Daniels Fund supports nonprofit groups in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. Grant awards are targeted for programs that address aging, alcoholism and substance abuse, amateur sports, disabilities, education, homelessness, disadvantaged persons and youth development.
