‘Carnevale’ of voices

It’s a night of great opera at the Ellen Eccles Theater as the Utah Festival Opera presents Carenvale Operafesta July 28th at 7:30 pm. Leading artists who regularly perform at the New York Metropolitan Opera and other great opera houses will present the one night affair. Kree Lindsay, Director of Public Relations and Marketing explains Carnevale Operafesta isn’t a familiar term and people will miss the wonderful experience if not in attendance. “We have a dozen of our very best, most talented, leading artists performing in this program,” she says, “including Michelle Trovato who won the International Operatic Contest here and placed fifth in the world in the competition in Italy last year.”Other performers include Kyle Pfortmiller, Stephanos Tsirakoglou, Jordan Bluth, Kevin Nakatani, and Millinee Bannister, all who are leads in The Barber of Seville. Eric Marigiore and Charles Taylor, leads in La Traviata, and Mark Womack, the lead in The Sound of Music and Guys and Dolls, will also perform.
