Thousands expected for Brigham City Temple groundbreaking

No one knows how many will come but Brigham City officials expect thousands of people will gather at 200 South and Main Street on Saturday, July 31 where groundbreaking for a new LDS Temple will take place. According to the Box Elder News Journal, within 12 hours of the groundbreaking announcement all the rooms at local hotels and motels were brooked. The event will begin at 9 a.m. Audio of the event will be broadcast to the lawn of the Tabernacle and the groundbreaking will be televised to all LDS Stake Centers in the Brigham City Temple District. There are between 1,500 and 2,000 invited guests and they will be bussed in from nearby church and school parking lots.
