Cache County has signed an agreement with the federal government to serve as manager for a multi-million dollar canal renovation project. But County Executive Lynn Lemon says no decision has been made yet on which option will be chosen. The Cache County Council meets Tuesday at 5 p.m. and the various options will be discussed. Prior to that, at 3 p.m., a canal option tour has been scheduled. “We’ll be going up to where the canal comes out of the Logan River,” Lemon says. “Then we’ll be looking at the Canyon Road option, we’ll be looking at the Golf Course option, the Lundstrom Park option, and then the option up on 3100 North. Lemon says more than just the County Council will visit those locations. “We’re going to take the County Council and the representatives from the canal companies and from those cities up to look at all of those various options.” An environmental impact study of the project is currently underway. The intent of the project is to rehabilitate two canals, including the Logan Northern which ruptured last July killing three people inside a home on Logan’s Canyon Road.
