Tsunami threat prompts cancellation of WAC game between Nevada and UH

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Tonight’s Nevada-Hawaii men’s basketball game in Honolulu has been canceled due to the tsunami warning there.No makeup date has been scheduled, but officials from the schools will discuss the possibility at a later date.The Hawaii campus is closed and all events have been canceled.The Wolf Pack is staying at a hotel about two blocks from Waikiki Beach, which is outside the evacuation zone.The tsunami waves are expected to hit Honolulu later this afternoon.Sirens sounded at 6 a.m. in Honolulu and have continued throughout the day to warn of a potential tsunami caused by the 8.8-magnitude earthquake in Chile yesterday.
